O projecto de investigação ADOPT_DTV tem como principal objectivo compreender quais são os principais factores de adopção e rejeição de uso do serviço de televisão digital no contexto de transição da televisão analógica para a digital em Portugal, na perspectiva das principais partes interessadas. Neste artigo há a intenção de apresentar a metodologia a ser prosseguida neste projecto de investigação, bem como a revisão de literatura no qual o projecto é suportado. O enfoque deste projecto de investigação está precisamente nas pessoas que não têm a intenção de adoptar TV digital, nomeadamente, na compreensão dos principais factores que explicam esta rejeição, bem como na determinação do seu perfil demográfico e socioeconómico. Com base nestes dados será possível delinear recomendações que contribuam para que a transição bem sucedida da TV analógica para a digital seja uma realidade para todos os residentes em Portugal. Este projecto foi aprovado em 2009 para financiamento pela Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia ( PTDC/CCI-COM/102576/2008).

The present project proposal main goal is to understand what are the most relevant barriers to digital TV adoption by Portuguese citizens in the switchover context. In this paper there is the intention of presenting the methodology to be pursued in this research project, as well as the literature review that support the project. Therefore, the main contribution of this paper in the presentation of a methodology than can be applied in other contexts, which are also currently involved in a switchover process from analogue to digital TV. This research project focus precisely on the people who do not have the intention to adopt digital TV. More precisely, our goal is to understand and identify the main factors that explain this intention, as well as their demographic and socioeconomic profile. With these results it will be possible to define recommendations that can positively contribute for a successful switchover to all Portuguese citizens and contribute to other international experiments.
